Explain what the job is and allow the candidate to be the predominant speaker in the interview. If the candidate was assertive in the past, it’s likely that he’ll be assertive in the future. It’s so important that I call it “The Golden Rule of Hiring”. It’s different here. I can’t find good people”. This happened most frequently in good economic times with periods of low unemployment. The talents required to run and grow your business should drive hiring decisions – not the unemployment rate.
